After losing the past two games – both against nationally ranked teams – the Angelina College Lady Roadrunners erupted offensively and took out some frustrations on the Jacksonville Lady Jaguars.

Jerissa Grimes scored a hat trick for the ladies, netting all three of her goals in the first half to lead the Lady ‘Runners to a 10-0 blanking at Abe Martin Stadium in Lufkin.

Italli Suarez added two goals, Jade Dewbre scored her 15th of the season and Gabriel Bradford, Sasha Moreira, Jasmin Keller and Stephany Lopez each added goals in breaking a two-game losing streak – both to nationally ranked teams – for the Lady Roadrunners.

AC’s ladies (6-4, 4-3) moved into sole possession of third place in Region XIV behind undefeated Tyler and Navarro.

The Lady Roadrunners will spend the weekend in Mississippi, taking on Mississippi Gulf Coast College on Saturday and Pear River College on Sunday. AC’s next home game will be Saturday, Oct. 6 when the Lady ‘Runners face Northeast Texas Community College at 1 p.m. at Jase Magers Field in Lufkin.
