A Lady ‘Runner 16-2 scoring run extending from the first to the second quarter of Saturday’s game against Bossier Parish Community College pushed AC’s ladies to a blowout win at home.
Just days after the Lady Roadrunners dropped a tough road loss to a nationally ranked team – after which head coach Byron Coleman mentioned his team’s lack of execution for the full four quarters – AC put together a methodical defensive attack to force 23 Lady Cavalier turnovers. In addition, the Lady Roadrunner bench outscored their counterparts by a 47-9 margin.
Mycah McDonald led AC with 20 points, nine rebounds and two steals. Lovietta Walker made the most of her 24 minutes of action, finishing with 16 points and seven rebounds. Britney Thompson and Mikayla Bailey added nine points each; Dakota Matthews and Simran Mayfield each finished with eight points.
Gabby Dodson led the Lady Cavaliers with 22 points.
With the win, the Lady Roadrunners move to 11-5, 3-2 on the season. AC will play at Jacksonville College at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
