Lady 'Runners Advance To Conference Semifinals

SHREVEPORT – Wednesday’s win over Bossier Parish Community College didn’t just send the No. 14 Angelina College Lady Roadrunners into Friday’s semifinal round.

The victory also established a new single-season program record for wins in a season.   

        

The Lady ‘Runners came out hot, with Mia Williams, Britney Thompson and Taylor Jacob hitting on a trio of three pointers in the first quarter, and AC cruised to its 27th win of the year with a convincing 93-47 win over the Lady Cavs in Region XIV conference tournament action at Centenary College in Shreveport.

The hot-shooting Lady ‘Runners raced to a 21-9 lead over the first 10 minutes and led 48-21 at the half, finishing with 12 three pointers for the game.

Natasha Mack led AC in scoring with 17 points. Mia Williams added 16, Britney Thompson 15 and Arianna Garry 13 in the win.

AC’s ladies (27-3) will face No. 4 Trinity Valley College at 3 p.m. on Friday.
