'Runners Race Past LSC-Tomball in Classic Finale

The Angelina College Roadrunners closed out their part of the Lufkin Coca Cola Thanksgiving Classic with a 100-68 win over Lone Star College-Tomball in Saturday’s final day of the tournament at Shands Gymnasium.

Every active Roadrunner made his way into the scoring column, with Dralyn Brown and Riley Dewitz leading the way with 14 points each. Travis Henson added 11, and Tayvion Johnson and Gwarren Douglas added 10 points each. Dewitz boosted his final total with four three pointers – part of AC’s nine treys for the game.

The Timberwolves got 22 points from Ravinell Lee and nine from Thomas Williams.

In the championship game, the Thunderbirds of New Mexico Junior College edged Navarro College 62-58 to take home the trophy. The T-Birds’ Terence Lewis was named Tournament MVP.

In the early game, Howard College defeated Southwestern Christian College 77-41.

The Roadrunners (4-6, 1-0) resume conference play Wednesday in Paris. AC will face the Dragons (4-5, 0-1) at 7 p.m.
