Kevin Norman showed up in a big way, and the Angelina College Roadrunners needed every bit of it in Friday’s 95-87 win over Lone Star College-Tomball.

Norman posted a career high 40 points, adding 11 rebounds, three steals and three blocked shots in an all-around performance.

In AC’s final game of the semester before the holiday break, the Timberwolves offered a stiff challenge, actually holding a lead heading into the second half. Norman then scored the ‘Runners next nine points himself, fueling 14-4 run to give AC a little breathing room down the stretch.

Roadrunner Draylin Brown added 15 points, converting seven of his eight free-throw attempts. Hunter Janacek nailed four three pointers to tally a 12-point night.

The Timberwolves’ John Williams and Jakyle Jackson each scored 19 points.

The Roadrunners (7-6, 1-2) next play at McLennan College on Dec. 29. AC’s next home game is on Friday, Jan. 4 against Tyler College.
