Regular-season finale and final home game of the year – and the Angelina College Roadrunners closed the park in style.

AC scored five runs in the first and eight in the second in cruising to a 15-0 win over Paris College in five innings.

Rylan Meek’s two-run homer was part of that eight-run second inning, but the ‘Runners did most of their damage via small ball: All five runs in the first came from two-out singles.

Wes Gafford pitched three scoreless innings to earn the win, and Drew Shiflett and Dalton Roblin each retired all three batters they faced in relief.

With the win, the Roadrunners (31-19, 16-14) clinch the third seed for the Region XIV’s East Zone. The conference tournament is scheduled to open Saturday at Lamar University in Beaumont. Final pairings and schedules will be announced later.
