In a final outing before conference play begins this week, Angelina College head coach Jeff Livin showed off his stable of pitchers.

The Angelina College Roadrunner baseball team won its fifth straight game on Monday, topping Alvin College 8-4 at Roadrunner Field. Livin trotted out six pitchers over nine innings, with starter Sean Bergeron striking out six batters in three innings of work. Drew Shifflet, Nathan Flake, Garrett Mullican, Caleb Monasmith and Chandler Reece also spent time on the mound.

The Roadrunners built an 8-0 lead over the first four innings and allowed the pitching to do the rest.

The win pushes AC’s season record to 11-5.

The ‘Runners are scheduled to open conference play Thursday at Navarro College. Game time is 2 p.m.

The series will resume on Saturday at Roadrunner Field, with a doubleheader scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
